Miss Mia’s Sewing Book 2005
This is a 3-D altered book originally formed by an old McCall’s Sewing Book.
The base color thought of hot pink and orange is felt throughout this piece of art. Small findings, fabrics, and other layered items give this book a fun feel of being a woman and enjoying texture, sparkle, silk and glamour.
I framed the book with my daughter’s pink Durango boots. She wore these at two years of age and I found this a great opportunity to use them artistically and seal memories I have of Mia in them.
Writings throughout the work are composed of small sentences and thoughts I want her to remember throughout her travels of fashion.
